What's Up With The Underbite?

Coen and I spent the afternoon hanging out in town yesterday. While he was playing in the park I took about a million photos of the boy, and in most of them he is making an odd face with an underbite smile combination. Very strange!

I purchased some 'chips' from Coen's shop.

Bargain!

And Coen practiced gazing into the distance. What a beautiful child!
After the park went to the Town Hall for coffee and cakes with my friend Jen (yes, confusing) and Coen did some beautiful drawing..... on his nose.
Then we headed back to the park for more playing.

At one stage whilst playing with this swingy thing Coen whacked himself on the nose. He was very brave, it must have really hurt, but there were no tears. He has a bruise on the tip of his nose this morning.

I have some cute pics of Jen on the slide too, but I think I'll be killed if I put them in here. Not me Jen, the other Jen, I'm confused.

A Few Photos

My boys got me some beautiful lillies.

Coen loves his trains,

and taking photos,

especially of his dog,

and his mum (who loves to knit),

and his cousin Dayle, who came to visit and entertained Coen like no one else can!

Is it People Food?

The Easter Bunny visited uson the weekend.

Is the Easter Bunny a monotreme? It laid eggs everywhere!

After the initial excitment of phantom bunnies being in the house wore off Coen asked a very important question....

"Is it people food?"

We're All Better Now

I'm happy to report that we have all recovered from last week's illness! Although poor Coen has now come down with a shocking case of snot!
All I have to offer is a pic from just before the sickness. Coen calls this work of art his Reindeer, pretty imaginative. I call it a concrete bull terrier with door stops on its ears.

Visiting The Lamb Girls

On Friday last week Coen and I went over to Forest Hill to look after my cousins Madeleine and Mariette for the day. The girls were beautifully behaved and we had a wonderful time! Coen and Maddie have a very close, energetic friendship and enjoyed each other's company enormously!

We only had a couple of these incidents. I don't think they actually wanted all those trains for themselves, it was just that they didn't want the other to have them!

Mariette checked out my photographic equipment. Which was only fair considering she was my main model for the day. The other two move way too fast for my meagre skills at the moment.

I played around a bit with this one over the weekend.

I love the black & white! Check out those eye lashes!

Then big sister wanted in on the fun!

And Coen too, of course!

After lunch we went across the road to the park.

Where the big kids played...

and Mariette and I observed.

Coen and Maddie brought us some leaves to play with.

I thought it was time to stop harvesting leaves when the big stick made an appearance.

Coen and Madeleine developed an interesting little game...

Coen ROARS!

Maddie SQUEALS!

And the chase is on!
We had a wonderful time playing with the girls and look forward to seeing them again this weekend!

A Rainy Weekend

Last weekend we he headed out to the Kilmore Art Expo. The wonderful rain forced us to seek out indoor entertainments. It wasn't quite as good as last year, (in our humble opinions) but we still saw some lovely paintings and photographs. On our return home, Coen was feeling inspired and artistic so we brought out the paints!
Darron's old squad shirt makes an excellent art smock.

Coen did some acrylic on canvas,
before we moved on to some crafty caterpillars! Painting is serious business!
Here's a special tip for all those kids who have interferring mothers like Coen's. Give her her own project to paint and then she'll leave yours alone!
Painty hands are evidence of a productive afternoon!

Add some pompoms and pipecleaners and you have a fabulous caterpillar! Coen was very pleased with the final result!

After we finished painting, the sun broke through the black clouds so we went and had a look at the Assumption fete.

Darron and Coen had a ride on the spinning tea cups. The ride started out fun, but by the end they were both looking a bit queasy!

Just after hopping off the ride, the sky opened up and it absolutely bucketed down! We dashed for cover, and waited for the rain to ease enough for us to get back to the car. When it finally cleared a little we garbbed a show bag for Coen and raced home! It was possibly the shortest visit to a fete in history!

We managed to keep ourselves entertained on that very rare thing, a rainy day!
